LATEST POLLS: LELAND MORRIS AND JAMES TUCKER IN A DEAD HEAT IN IOWA

WASHINGTON (AP) — Kentucky Governor Leland Morris and business magnate James Tucker remain in a dead heat for the Democratic presidential nomination following this week's release of Ipsos polling analysis out of the Iowa caucus battlegrounds.

According to the poll of 631 Americans, conducted Jan. 20-22 leading up to the caucus, Morris leads Tucker 47 percent to 44 percent among Democratic voters. The poll has a credibility interval of 4 percentage points. Morris had been leading the polls by a 30 percent margin at the beginning of the year, but Tucker has narrowed that lead considerably over the past several weeks.

Experts say that Morris is still expected to win in Iowa, but the race in New Hampshire is far too close to call. Tucker has extremely strong support in New England as a Massachusetts native, and analysts expect that to be a driving force in the polls.

The two rivals clashed on Thursday night in their first one-on-one debate, reflecting the tightness of the race.

The other candidates, including Sarah Abbey and John Scooby, are far behind at 3 and 1 percent of the polls, respectively. It's expected that Scooby will concede after Iowa.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump continued to lead the field with 40 percent support in the polls. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas followed with 16 percent and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida came in third with 13 percent.
